Publishing
12 testers for 14 days
New personal Google Play developer accounts must run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days in a row before the app can be published to everyone. Here is how it works.
Run the closed test in 4 steps
- Build your app with APK + AAB and upload the AAB to a Closed testing track in Play Console.
- Add at least 12 testers by email or with a Google Group, and share the opt-in link with them.
- Testers join, install your app from Google Play and keep it installed for 14 days in a row.
- After 14 days, apply for production access in Play Console and answer Google's questions about the test.
Good to know
- The 14 days only count while at least 12 testers stay opted in. If people drop out, the count can stop.
- Testers should really open and use the app. Google asks what feedback you got.
- Organisation accounts don't have this rule.
