Turn a site from an AI website builder into an Android app

Built something with an AI site builder? Here is how to export it and package it as an Android app, whether it is a static site or a React project.

AI website builders can produce a polished landing page or a small web app in minutes. The next question people ask is always the same: can I put this on my phone as a real app? Usually, yes. How you do it depends on what the builder gives you.

Option 1: The site is already online

If your project has a public address, the quickest route is the Website URL option in Free HTML to APK. Paste the link, set a name and an icon, and build. The app loads your live site, so every change you publish shows up in the app without a new build.

Good to know:

  • Links to the same site stay inside the app. Links to other sites open in the browser, unless you choose to keep them in the app.
  • If the phone goes offline, the app shows a friendly offline screen and reconnects by itself when the network is back.
  • Google Play is stricter about apps that only wrap a website. Add something app-like, such as a home screen, a menu or a native feature, before you publish.

Option 2: Download the code

Most builders let you download the project or sync it to GitHub. Then it depends on what is inside.

Plain HTML

If you see an index.html next to CSS and JavaScript files, zip the folder and use the ZIP file option. The app finds index.html and keeps your folders as they are.

A React, Vue or Vite project

If you see package.json and a src folder, the project needs to be built first. On a computer, run the build command (usually npm run build). It creates a folder named dist or build. Zip that folder, not the whole project, and import it.

Single-page apps with client-side routing work fine, because the app serves your files from a real secure web address inside the phone.

Things that often need a small fix

  • Absolute paths. Some builds point to files with a leading slash. These work in Free HTML to APK, but if your build is set to a sub-folder, set the base path back to /.
  • Backends. If the site talks to a database or an API, that server still has to be online. The app only packages the front end.
  • Login with Google. Some sign-in providers block embedded browsers. Test sign-in early and use a provider that allows it.

Make it feel like an app

A few settings go a long way: a splash screen, a bottom tab bar for your main pages, pull to refresh, and your brand color in the status bar. All of them are in the build wizard, and none of them need code.

Try it yourself. Free HTML to APK turns your HTML into a signed Android app right on your phone. Free, no account, no watermark.
